Maintaining Successful Accreditation in
Employment and Community Services

MARO in cooperation with the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) is pleased to announce this one day conference to assist community rehabilitation organizations in preparing for CARF accreditation and exploring other issues in service provision.

CARF SealCARF Accreditation is a seal of approval illustrating to the public that a community based organization is managing its qualit and focusing on persons served outcome.

This session from the CARF Employment and Community Services division will provide an update on the practices that support the continuous quality improvement process.

Seminar Summary: This interactive training is designed for accredited organizations preparing for resurvey or for individuals interested in the latest practices for quality and innovation. This intensive and dynamic workshop gives participants "hands-on" practice, guided by the trainer, in developing plans and procedures necessary to demonstrate conformance to standards that have been identified as most challenging by the field. It is important to note that NOT all standards will be covered in this workshop.

In addition to the workshop exercises, significant changes in the 2012 Employment and Community Services Standards Manual will be highlighted.

Session topics include:
  • New programs and standards.
  • Frequently cited standards.
  • Practical examples of organizational conformance to the standards including risk management, corporate compliance and the alignment of CARF Community standards with Medicaid Waiver Quality Domains.
  • Identification of the most effective business management and service delivery practices.
  • Advanced information measurement and management and performance improvement (outcomes training).

About the Presenter: Paul Andrew has more than 37 years of personal and professional experience with individuals who have disabilities -- including 15 years in management, coordination, and administration of publicly and privately funded vocational rehabilitation programs. Paul has represented CARF's Employment and Community Services customer service unit since 1989 and now serves as the unit's Managing Director. He facilitates the development, training, and use of market-driven accreditation standards and approaches to help continuously improve services to consumers, enhance organizational design, and improve organizations' responsiveness to community stakeholders. He is a former provider of services and trainer for the McLaren College of Business at the University of San Francisco.

Who Should Attend: Administrators, board members, purchasers of services and referral sources, consumer advocates and key staff involved in planning, developing, and improving service outcomes, as well as those considering CARF accreditation for the future.

Cost
$160 for MARO Members, $240 for non members
Registration fee includes lunch and handout materials.
The seminar begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m.

Refund requests are subject to a $25 processing fee. No refunds will be given after April 12, 2012. Substitutions are permitted.
