ACCESS SAFETY: Safety Training for Employers Serving Michigan's Workers With Barriers to Inclusion.
ACCESS SAFETY is a statewide program that develops and delivers workplace safety and health training to MARO members. Funded by a grant from the Consultation Education and Training (CET) Division of MIOSHA, this training can be presented both on-site, in person, and as web-based seminars delivered via the internet. Training clearly and graphically represents workplace hazards and safe work practices for community rehabilitation organizations, the workers they serve, and the staff who support them. Offering creative strategies to make the workplace safer, ACCESS SAFETY presents training to suit the requirements of the target audience, with programs that employers can retain and utilize on an ongoing basis. Such targeted, relevant, site-specific safety training is available through no other resource for organizations serving people with disabilities and other barriers.
